Sports Scholarships for International Students at University of Derby in UK, 2020 Founded in 1992, University of Derby is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large town of Derby (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), East Midlands. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Privy Council, University of Derby is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 15,000-19,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. University of Derby offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation degrees), bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 27 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on students' past academic record and grades. The admission rate range is 80-90% making this UK higher education organization a least selective institution. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: All nationalities.
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: Undergraduate, Postgraduate, or Online degree programs in the field of sports.
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • Student-athletes competing at a high county level up to senior internationals and studying an undergraduate, postgraduate, or online degree.
  • Team Derby has seven performance teams, men’s and women’s badminton, men’s basketball, men’s football, track cycling and men’s and women’s volleyball, however, athletes competing in all BUCS (British Universities and Colleges Sport) events are eligible to apply.

Application Process

  • How to Apply: To be considered for the opportunity , you must download and complete a Team Derby Sports application Form and return it together with your sporting reference by email to [email protected]
  • Supporting Documents: Candidates must provide supporting references preferably on headed paper with their applications.
  • Admission Requirements: For taking admission, candidates must check the entry requirements of the program.
  • Language Requirement: If English is not your first language then you must submit a copy of a recent English language test certificate or provide details of when you are going to take the test.
