Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded in Life Sciences.
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
  • Applicants must have completed the PhD before commencing the fellowship.
  • Postdoctoral scientists must collaborate directly with 2 or more Smithsonian scientists as named sponsors.
  • Fellows should select co-advisors from more than 1 SI unit (NMNH including SMSFP, SERC, STRI, NZP).

Offered Benefits

The University of California Los Angeles will provide the award amount of $60,000and stipends are $48,000 per year with additional funds available for group health insurance, travel from place of origin to Smithsonian host facility, research travel, and research supplies, up to a combined $60,000 max. per year.
