Global Affairs, in collaboration with UC Davis colleges and schools, offers Seed Grants for International Activities to support faculty pursuing innovative research, service, and engagement initiatives globally.
Eligibility for the grant is open to UC Davis Academic Senate faculty and Academic Federation faculty with Principal Investigator (PI) status. Faculty from all UC Davis locations are encouraged to apply, with each applicant limited to submitting one proposal per cycle. A 1:1 matching fund from the relevant dean’s office is required, and applicants must obtain signatures from their dean or associate dean to confirm this support.The Regents of the University of California is the governing body of the University of California (UC) system. Established in 1868, it oversees the administration and operation of the UC’s 10 campuses, five medical centers, and three affiliated national laboratories. Application Process
Applicants must submit a proposal through the online form through the Seed Grants for International Activities Submission Portal by December 13, 2024. The submission must include:
- Abstract: Up to 150 words summarizing the project.
- Project Overview and Timeline: Details about the research scope, objectives, interdisciplinary nature, and the global relationships to be fostered (up to 1200 words).
- Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice: Description of how these concepts are integrated into the proposal (up to 250 words).
- Global Learning: Explanation of how students will benefit from global learning opportunities (up to 250 words).
- Dissemination and Future Funding: Plans for disseminating results and applying for future funding (up to 250 words).
- Budget Narrative and Spreadsheet: A detailed budget following UC Davis requirements (up to 250 words).
