Scholarships for Incoming Freshmen at Wichita State University, 2020-2021 for Bachelor Established in 1895, Wichita State University is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the small city of Wichita (population range of 250,000-499,999 inhabitants), Kansas. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Higher Learning Commission, Wichita State University (WSU) is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 15,000-19,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. Wichita State University (WSU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation degrees), bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 124 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades. The admission rate range is 90-100% making this US higher education organization a least selective institution. International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

Acceptable Course or Subjects: The sponsorship will be awarded in any undergraduate degree subjects in Engineering, Science offered by the university.

Freshmen merit awards:

  • Awarded over four years with eligibility
  • Award offers are based on high school GPA and national test scores (ACT/SAT).
  • November 1st Priority Date for consideration

Honors College Merit Scholarship: The grant is open for incoming freshmen and transfer students who are fully admitted to Wichita State and to the Dorothy and Bill Cohen Honors College.

WSU National merit awards:

  • Applications are open to National Merit Finalists and National Hispanic Recognition Finalists
  • Annual amount varies; Awarded over four years with eligibility

Offered Benefits

  • Freshmen Merit financial aid positions will cover up to $8,000 – $24,000
  • Honors College Merit support will cover $1,000
  • WSU National Merit financial aid positions will cover $50,000

  • How to Apply: For applying, applicants need to take admission to the university. After being accepted, claimants will be automatically considered for this studentship.
