In partnership with African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO) and Africa University, the WIPO Academy is providing a master’s degree program in an intellectual award by the Government of Japan.

The funding program aims to support highly motivated students proceeding to the master’s degree in an intellectual study. The plan is open for the academic year 2020-2021.

Funding for Master’s Degree in Intellectual Property at Africa University, Zimbabwe Established in 1992, Africa University is a non-profit private higher education institution located in the suburban setting of the large town of Mutare (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Manicaland. This institution has also branch campuses in the following location(s): Harare. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Zimbabwe, Africa University (AU) is a very small (uniRank enrollment range: 1,000-1,999 students) coeducational higher education institution formally affiliated with the Christian-Methodist religion. Africa University (AU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation degrees), bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. The admission rate range is 30-40% making this Zimbabwean higher education organization a very selective institution. International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment.

  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The grant is available for any degree coursework.
  • Admissible Criteria: To be considered, applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • Applicants must be a citizen of an African country,
  • Students must be held a bachelor degree from a recognised university in any discipline.

Application Process

  • How to Apply: For applying this educational award, students first have to take admission at Africa University. After being enrolled, they can complete the application form of the university.
  • Supporting Documents: If you receive an offer to study at the university, then submit a transcript, university degree, photographs, letter of recommendation, a resume, and all the previous necessary mark-sheets.
  • Admission Requirements:  Before taking entrance, claimants need to check the entry requirements page of the university.
  • Language Requirement: Students must have to show evidence of good proficiency in the English language. (TOEFL / CAE or an acceptable equivalent)
