The fellowship is designed to foster international collaboration and academic excellence. It seeks to attract highly motivated students with exemplary academic records and strong research potential. Eligible candidates must be enrolled at one of RWTH Aachen’s partner universities in Korea, including Seoul National University, Korea University, Yonsei University, KAIST, POSTECH, Ewha Womans University, and Sungkunkwan University. Offered Benefits
Selected candidates will receive a fellowship valued at €3,000 for a three-month research program. The research period should be agreed upon with the supervisor and can start at any time, with a maximum funding amount of €3,000, even for longer periods.
Application Process
Interested applicants must identify a research supervisor at RWTH Aachen University and agree on a research topic. The following application documents are required:
- Completed application form
- Curriculum Vitae/resume
- Statement of purpose (including details about the research project, RWTH supervisor, motivation, and purpose)
- Transcript of grades
- Proof of English skills
- Certificate of enrollment as a Master’s or PhD student at the Korean home university
- Confirmation of supervision at RWTH Aachen University
- Recommendation letter from the supervisor at the home university referencing the intended research project at RWTH
Note: The RWTH Aachen University Research Fellowship cannot be combined with other German or international publicly or privately funded scholarships, such as those from the DAAD or public/private Korean scholarships.
