Royal Society 2023 Entrepreneur in Residence Scheme (upto £25,000) for Course Established in 2001, Leading University is a non-profit private higher education institution located in the urban setting of the medium-sized city of Sylhet (population range of 500,000-1,000,000 inhabitants). Officially accredited and/or recognized by the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh, Leading University (LUS) is a small (uniRank enrollment range: 5,000-5,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. Leading University (LUS) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees in several areas of study. This 18 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on students' past academic record and grades.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The plan includes engineering as well as all branches of the biological and physical sciences, but it does not include clinical medicine.
  • Any applicant who is authorized to work in the UK for the period of the award is eligible to apply for the program. Candidates should have a background in engineering and science. They must be able to show that they have substantial expertise working in science within an industrial research setting, as well as one or more of the following: experience leading university-business collaborations and the translation and commercialization of research.
  • experience in entrepreneurship, including startup and business expansion, investment, etc.
  • knowledge of or interest in coaching, mentoring, or training.
  • Candidates may work full-time, part-time, or independently.

Offered Benefits

Two years are covered by the EiR awards. The scheme’s worth is limited to a maximum of £25,000 annually (plus any relevant VAT) and is anticipated to cover the following:

  • To spend 20% of their working hours at the host, the award recipient will receive compensation equal to 0.2 FTE of their existing wage. During the secondment, the EiR’s employer will continue to pay national insurance and pension contributions; only the basic wage will be paid.
  • Travel expenses for the prize recipient to get to and from their host, as well as any necessary lodging.
  • Project costs, conference attendance, meeting workshops, and training can all be included in order to help achieve the project plan’s objectives.
