RGU International PhD Studentships in Real-time Modelling of Future Distribution Networks, UK Founded in 1992, Robert Gordon University is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the suburban setting of the large town of Aberdeen (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Scotland. Robert Gordon University (RGU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 27 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on students' past academic record and grades. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: All nationalities
  • Eligible Course or Subjects: PhD degree in Real-time modelling of future distribution networks for the transition to the Distribution System Operation model.
  • Eligibility Criteria: Applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • Applicants should have a First-or Second-Class UK honours degree, or equivalent, in a relevant discipline such as Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Control Engineering, or Computer Science. An MSc in a relevant subject is highly desirable. Knowledge of power system operation, distributed power generation, and real-time simulation with programming skills in Matlab and SIMULINK is required. Experience with real-time tools is advantageous.

Offered Benefits

Applicants are eligible for a fee waiver studentship for the duration of the 3 years. This studentship will cover the tuition fees only for qualified home or overseas students. Interested candidates will have to secure their own financial support to support their living costs during the duration of the PhD study.

  • Language Requirement: All aspirants, whose first language is not from a recognized English-speaking country, will be asked to provide evidence of their English language skills as part of their offer to study at RGU.
