The successful candidate will contribute to the research effort of the Quantum Optics Theory Group at the University of Auckland, with emphasis on the field of cavity quantum electrodynamics in both the many-atom and single-atom regimes.
The successful candidate is expected to have deep understanding of the basics of theoreticalquantum optics. They are expected to be familiar with the principles and phenomena ofcavity quantum electrodynamics.Previous experience with many-body quantum systems and entanglement, quantum phasetransitions, and quantum information science would be advantageous. Other welcomeattributes include: a strong track record of delivering successful outcomes in scientificresearch, excellent communication and presentation skills, and an accurate and independentapproach to research.Candidates must have proven track records of research and skills in quantum optics, and asubstantive record of publications in high impact journals. The successful candidate isexpected to contribute to the supervision of graduate students. The position is funded by theDodd-Walls Centre for Photonic and Quantum Technologies, a New Zealand Centre of Research Excellence.
Develop and maintain an up-to-date academic knowledge of the field of cavity quantumelectrodynamics across a range of architectures, including:Maintaining a database of relevant scientific papers.Preparing literature reviews as requested, and disseminating relevant publications to othermembers of the group.
