The University of Graz is inviting applicants to apply for the Research Culture and Integrity Ambassador Grants 2025. Each year, the Research Careers Campus funds three innovative projects with up to €5,000 to strengthen collegiality, academic integrity, and a supportive research culture across the university.

The grants are open to all members of the University of Graz, including researchers, students, and research managers. Applicants must propose innovative projects that promote positive research culture and integrity, addressing areas such as scientific practice, peer support, accessibility, diversity, communication, or leadership.

Research Culture and Integrity Ambassador Grants in Austria Founded in 1585, Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz (University of Graz) is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the small city of Graz (population range of 250,000-499,999 inhabitants), Styria. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Bundesministerium für Bildung, Wissenschaft and Forschung, Österreich (Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research, Austria), Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz (KFUG) is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 25,000-29,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz (KFUG) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: All (applicants must be part of the University of Graz)

  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The grants can support projects in any subject offered by the university that promote a positive research culture and good scientific practice.

  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must:

    • Be members of the University of Graz (researchers, students, or research managers).

    • Propose a project that addresses key themes such as scientific integrity, peer support, accessibility, diversity, leadership, communication, academic kindness, open science, or related areas.

    • Clearly define project objectives, funding needs, and impact measurement.

    • Commit to submitting a written report at the project’s conclusion and presenting outcomes at the RCC Annual Event.

  • Flexibility in the use of funds, which may cover expert consultations, retreats, workshops, student assistants, teaching activities, or related expenses (in line with university guidelines).

Application Process

Applicants must complete the online Limesurvey application form (available in English or German). The application should include:

  • Information about the project management team and participants.

  • Project title, ambition, and vision.

  • Intended impact and needs assessment.

  • Funding request and planned use of funds.

  • Timeline with start and end dates.

  • Implementation methods and identified target groups.

  • Plans for measuring project impact.
