The Edwin O. Reischauer Institute of Japanese Studies at Harvard University is now accepting applications for its prestigious Postdoctoral Fellowships in Japanese Studies for the 2025–26 academic year. This program offers recent PhD. graduates an incredible opportunity to transform their dissertations into publishable works while advancing their research in Japanese Studies.

Applicants must have completed their PhD in Japanese Studies in 2020 or later, focusing on the humanities or social sciences.   • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded in Japanese Studies, in any area of the humanities or social sciences
  • Admissible Criteria:
    • Applicants must have received their Ph.D. in 2020 or later in Japanese Studies.
    • Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree by June 30, 2025.
    • RIJS encourages applications from those who have not previously held postdoctoral appointments at Harvard.
