Queen Mary MABECS Outstanding Achievement Awards in UK for Master


Queen Mary University of London, in partnership with MABECS, is offering two full tuition Outstanding Achievement Award for Malaysian students enrolling in MSc Economics, MSc Finance, or LLM programmes for the 2025/2026 academic year. This prestigious award recognizes academic excellence and honors the legacy of Mr. David Guard.

To be eligible for the award, applicants must be Malaysian nationals, domiciled in Malaysia, and registered with MABECS. They must have received and accepted an offer to study MSc Economics, MSc Finance, or an LLM programme at Queen Mary University of London, starting in September 2025. Candidates should have a strong academic background, holding or expecting at least a 2.1 bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Applicants must be classified as overseas fee payers and capable of covering living and additional costs.

Queen Mary MABECS Outstanding Achievement Awards in UK for Master Founded in 1989, Queen Mary University of London is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the metropolis of London (population range of over 5,000,000 inhabitants). Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Privy Council, Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 15,000-19,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Malaysia
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded in the following programmes offered by the university:
  • MSc Economics

  • MSc Finance

  • LLM programmes

  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
  • Be domiciled in Malaysia and registered with MABECS.

  • Have applied to and received an offer for MSc Economics, MSc Finance, or an LLM programme starting in September 2025 at Queen Mary University of London.

  • Hold, or be expecting to achieve, at least a 2.1 in a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

  • Be classified as an overseas fee payer for tuition fee purposes.

  • Be able to cover living costs and additional expenses not covered by the scholarship.

  • Not be currently enrolled at Queen Mary University of London.

  • Not be applying for a distance learning or online-only programme.

  • Complete online registration and be ‘Normally Registered’ by 3 October 2025 (23:59 UK time).

  • Submit a scholarship application through MABECS by 30 June 2025.

Application Process


Applicants must:

  • Be registered with MABECS and submit their programme and scholarship applications through MABECS only (applications via other agents will not be accepted).

  • Accept their programme offer from Queen Mary University of London by 30 June 2025.

  • Submit a 500-word essay on What this scholarship means to you’ as part of their scholarship application.

  • Note that selection is primarily based on academic merit. Interviews will only be conducted in exceptional circumstances.
