The eligibility criteria for the Seed Awards are designed to support artists and cultural practitioners at the early and exploratory stages of their careers, ranging from 1 to 5 years, excluding study years. Applicants should exhibit an innovative and interesting artistic or cultural practice that actively addresses significant social and political issues within their local communities. The program is particularly keen on supporting individuals who have received limited institutional recognition or support for their artistic and cultural endeavors. Eligible candidates must be residing and working in the eligible countries of Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean, or Eastern Europe.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean, Eastern Europe
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: Any subject offered by the Prince Claus Fund
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
    • In the early and exploratory stages of their career (1 to 5 years, excluding study years)
    • Possess an innovative artistic or cultural practice addressing local social/political issues
    • Limited institutional recognition/support for their artistic/cultural practices
