President``s Doctoral Recruitment Scholarship in Transdisciplinary Research 2025 Founded in 1966, University of Calgary is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large city of Calgary (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants), Alberta. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Ministry of Advanced Education, Alberta, University of Calgary (UCalgary) is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 25,000-29,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. University of Calgary (UCalgary) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees in several areas of study. This 53 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades. The admission rate range is 10-20% making this Canadian higher education organization a most selective institution. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The scholarship is open to students registered in the first year of a doctoral program in the University of Calgary’s Faculty of Graduate Studies.
  • Students transferring directly from a master’s program are not eligible.
  • The student’s recruitment must address the Framework for Growth focus on transdisciplinary research and addresses equity, diversity, inclusion, accessibility, and reconciliation within the program/Faculty.
  • Graduate students funded through this scholarship will be required to apply for all provincial, national, or international scholarships for which they are eligible with renewal contingent on applications being submitted. Those who win external awards will have their Recruitment Scholarship and program/supervisor funding adjusted.

Offered Benefits

The President’s Doctoral Recruitment Scholarship in Transdisciplinary Research is valued at $12,000 per year for four years. The guaranteed graduate stipend students will receive on the PDRSTR will be the program’s minimum funding requirement plus the recruitment scholarship ($12,000) for 4 years.
