Eligible full-time students can apply for a loan of up to £3,400 and eligible part-time students can apply for up to £1,700 per year to pay tuition fees. Part-time students must be undertaking at least 50% of a full-time course, and must therefore, complete their qualification in no more than two years. To be eligible to apply for the Postgraduate Tuition Fee Loan you must not have received support from UK public funds for a previous vocational postgraduate course. If you are an EU national you have not have already received postgraduate tuition fee support from another EU country.
To be eligible to apply, you will also need a UK National Insurance number – if you are in the UK you can phone the National Insurance Office on 0845 600 0643 for help with this. Alternatively you can check the UK Government website for more information about how to apply for an NI Number.
