The University of Sydney is offering a postgraduate research scholarship for a research student within the School of Life and Environmental Sciences (SOLES). This scholarship provides a $40,109 per annum stipend for up to 3.5 years to support research in soil and microbial ecology.
Eligible candidates must be domestic or international students with an unconditional offer or current enrollment in a Masters by Research or PhD program at SOLES. - Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded for research in soil and microbial ecology within the School of Life and Environmental Sciences, Faculty of Science.
- Admissible Criteria: Must have an unconditional offer of admission or be currently enrolled in a Masters by Research or PhD within the School of Life and Environmental Sciences.
- Must undertake research in soil and microbial ecology.
- Must hold at least an Honours degree (First Class or Second Class Upper), a Master’s degree, or equivalent in soil science and related subjects.
Please note: Applicants without an unconditional offer of admission may apply and be selected; however, no scholarship offer will be sent until the applicant has an unconditional offer of admission.
Offered Benefits
The scholarship provides a stipend allowance equivalent to the University of Sydney’s Research Training Program (RTP) stipend rate (indexed on 1 January each year) for the following durations:
- Up to 1.75 years for a successful Masters by Research recipient.
- Up to 3.5 years for a successful PhD recipient.
