Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: All nationalities

  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded for research in Synthetic Biology, Metabolic Engineering, and related biotechnological fields offered by Ghent University.

  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must:

    • Hold a thesis-based PhD in bioengineering or a related discipline.

    • Demonstrate expertise in industrial biotechnology, particularly in synthetic biology and metabolic engineering integrated with AI.

    • Show proficiency in transcriptional expression systems, automation, and fluorescence-based screening.

    • Have a record of peer-reviewed scientific publications.

    • Experience with non-model organisms (e.g., Rhodobacter, Pseudomonas) and SEVA-based DNA systems is advantageous.

    • Be proactive, flexible, and fluent in English (written and spoken).

    • Possess strong project management and collaboration skills.
