The Institute of Environmental Physics (IUP) at the University of Bremen is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Research Scientist (f/m/d) in the field of Atmospheric Physics, starting from January 1, 2026. The position, offered under the German public service scale TV-L 13 (part-time, 74%), focuses on remote sensing measurements of atmospheric trace gases and stable isotopes, with a particular emphasis on climate research in the Arctic.
Eligibility requires applicants to hold a master’s degree and a completed or nearly completed PhD in physics, meteorology, remote sensing, geophysics, mathematics, or related fields. They must have experience in remote sensing of atmospheric trace gases, strong programming skills (e.g., Python), and good English proficiency. Willingness to travel for Arctic field campaigns is also expected.
