The Department of Biomedicine at the University of Basel is offering Postdoctoral Position in Bone Marrow Tissue Engineering. The project, funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation, focuses on developing 3D human bone marrow tissue models to study and improve hematopoiesis.

To be eligible for this postdoctoral position, applicants must hold a recent PhD in cell biology or a related field with a strong background in hematopoiesis and/or stem cell research. They should have hands-on experience in cell culture, flow cytometry, microscopy, and animal experimentation, with prior in vivo mouse work considered a strong advantage.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Open to applicants from all nationalities

  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The fellowship is awarded in the field of Biomedicine, Hematopoiesis, Stem Cell Research, or Tissue Engineering

  • Admissible Criteria:

    • Applicants must hold a PhD degree in cell biology (or equivalent), obtained within the past 12 months.

    • Strong background in hematopoiesis and/or stem cell research.

    • Proven expertise in cell culture, flow cytometry, microscopy, and animal experimentation.

    • Experience with in vivo mouse methods (drug administration, bone marrow transplantation, tissue harvest, implantations) is highly recommended.

    • Skills in molecular biology (DNA/RNA/protein extraction, cloning, Q-PCR) and/or transcriptomics/proteomics are a strong asset.

    • Excellent communication, writing, and presentation abilities.
