The Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), Department of Animal Biosciences, invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher in Biotechnology/Protein Biochemistry (Spider Silk) in Uppsala. The position focuses on developing novel methods for producing and characterizing recombinant spider silk proteins. Applicants must hold a recent PhD in a relevant field, have strong research experience in protein expression, purification, and characterization, and demonstrate excellent English skills.

To be eligible for the postdoctoral position, applicants must hold a PhD in a relevant field obtained within the past five years and have a strong publication record, including at least one first-author paper in an international peer-reviewed journal.   • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The position will be awarded in Biotechnology/Protein Biochemistry within the Department of Animal Biosciences.

  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must meet the following requirements:

    • Hold a PhD in a relevant field obtained within the past five years.

    • Have several publications in international peer-reviewed journals, including at least one as first author.

    • Demonstrated extensive practical experience in:

      • Protein expression in prokaryotes and/or yeasts.

      • Multiple protein purification techniques.

      • Development of recombinant protein production protocols.

      • Proficiency in at least two methods for protein characterization (e.g., SDS PAGE, CD spectroscopy, FTIR, rheology, SEC).

    • Excellent knowledge of English (C1 level in reading, writing, listening).

    • If from outside Europe and not a native English speaker, provide an official English proficiency certificate.
