The Research unit Nuclear Fusion of the department of Applied Physics at Ghent University is looking for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the field of Fusion Data Science. The research will be situated in integrated data analysis for fusion diagnostics, particularly in real-time applications in DEMO for the academic year 2022/2023.

Postdoctoral Research Fellowships in the field of fusion data science is situated at the interface between several research disciplines, involving plasma physics, fusion technology, probability theory, machine learning and information theory. Students are looking for a highly motivated candidate prepared to take on a challenge in this exciting research domain with links to many other areas in science and industry.   • Eligible Course or Subjects: PhD in Engineering Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering offered by the university.

This may involve travel abroad to some of the international fusion laboratories with which the research unit collaborates.
