Umeå University is inviting applications for a two-year Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Department of Medical Biochemistry and Biophysics to study proteins involved in maintaining mitochondrial DNA stability. Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Open to applicants from all countries.
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The fellowship will be awarded for research in the fields of cell or molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, or a related discipline offered by Umeå University.
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet the following criteria:
    • Must hold a doctoral degree (or equivalent foreign degree) in cell or molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, or a related field.
    • The doctoral degree should be completed no later than three years before the application deadline, unless special reasons apply (e.g., illness, parental leave).
    • Applicants should have practical experience in cell and molecular biological studies of mitochondria, mitochondrial proteins, and/or DNA-binding proteins.
    • A strong research track record with first-author publications in peer-reviewed journals is expected.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English are required.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an international research team.
