The Department of Political Science at the University of Gothenburg invites applications for a 2-year Postdoctoral Fellowship in Political Science PAR funded by the ERC Starting Grant. The position is part of the ECONENGAGE project, studying how national economic improvement affects political engagement and attitudes toward democracy.

Applicants must have a PhD in political science or a related field, preferably completed within the last three years. They should have strong skills in quantitative methods, survey analysis, and the ability to work in an international research team.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: International (all countries)
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: Political Science or closely related fields such as Economics
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following criteria:
    • Hold a PhD in Political Science or a closely related subject at the time of appointment
    • Preferably completed the PhD within three years before the application deadline (special consideration may apply for earlier graduates)
    • Experience in political economy, political behavior, or public opinion in established democracies is an asset
    • Excellent skills in quantitative methods, survey analysis, and survey design
    • Ability to work collaboratively within an international research team
    • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
