The Association des collèges et universités de la francophonie canadienne (ACUFC) is excited to announce the Post-Secondary Scholarship Program, offering 50 scholarships of $3,000 each to encourage English-speaking students in Canada to pursue their post-secondary studies in French.

To be eligible for the ACUFC Post-Secondary Scholarship, applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents with English as their first official language. They must have completed their secondary education at an English-speaking or non-official language institution and be registered full-time in a fall 2024 study program lasting at least two years.The Association des collèges et universités de la francophonie canadienne (ACUFC) is a prominent organization dedicated to enhancing and promoting post-secondary education in French across Canada. It brings together a network of institutions that offer diverse and high-quality academic programs in French, supporting students and fostering bilingualism in the country. The ACUFC plays a crucial role in advocating for French-language education, facilitating collaborations among member institutions, and providing resources and opportunities for students to pursue their studies in a French-speaking environment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Canada
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded in any subject offered by the participating universities, covering a wide range of fields such as Administration and Management, Planning, Arts and Music, Communication, Law, Economics and Politics, Teaching and Educational Sciences, Environment and Sustainable Development, Letters and Languages, Life Sciences, Health Sciences, Human Sciences, Pure and Applied Sciences, Social Sciences, Social Sciences: Intervention, Information and Communications Technology, Theology and Religious Sciences.
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
    • Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada.
    • Have English as the first official language spoken in Canada.
    • Have completed secondary education in an English-speaking or non-official language institution and graduated from it.
    • Be registered full-time in fall 2024 in a study program lasting at least two years.
    • Complete at least 50% of courses and related activities (internships and training activities in the community) in French.
    • Priority will be given to students in financial difficulty and those from underrepresented groups.

Offered Benefits

These scholarships aim to encourage English-speaking students to pursue their post-secondary studies in French, promoting bilingualism while studying in their field of interest. The scholarship amount is $3,000, and 50 awards are available.

Application Process

The application form will be available online from 9 a.m. on April 15, 2024. The deadline to submit an application is Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. It is recommended to allow sufficient time between submitting your application and the competition closing.
