The Faculty of Science and the Leiden Academic Centre for Drug Research at Leiden University are inviting students to apply for the Post-doc Researcher in Quantitative Transcriptional Gene Network Analysis in Systems Toxicology, the application for which is open for the academic year 2022-2023.

This position is open to applications from all interested foreign and home country students but will only be awarded to applicants who have the required MSc qualification, experience, and skills. The selected candidates will be entitled to receive a full-time position for three years with a maximum salary of € 4,670. The prospective candidate will join an enthusiastic research team of >25 researchers that conduct their work in the context of multiple European-funded projects ( EU-ToxRisk, RISK-HUNT3R, eTRANSAFE, TransQST, VHP4S, PARC, KWF), where successful interactions between academia, industry and regulatory agencies assure excellent scientific and societal impact, as well as a strong support network.

  • Eligible Course or Subjects: The students can apply for a postdoctoral position at the Faculty of Science and the Leiden Academic Centre for Drug Research at Leiden University.
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
  • Experience with transcriptomic analysis, knowledge of common bioinformatics tools;
  • Experience with network approaches and WGCNA is considered a plus;
  • Proficiency in R, experience with Shiny app development;
  • Strong analytical skills, critical and lateral thinking;
  • Strong communication skills and team player;
  • Strong ability to work independently and creative thinker;
  • Entrepreneurship interest or disposition is considered a plus.

Offered Benefits

The candidates selected by Leiden University for this position will be offered a full-time, one-year term position, with the possibility of renewal for an additional maximum of three years with a salary of € 2,541 – € 4,670.
