Are you passionate about the environment and storytelling? Enter the Planet Forward Storyfest 2025 competition for a chance to win an unforgettable expedition to the Galápagos Islands! Students from any academic background are invited to submit stories that highlight environmental solutions, innovations, and ideas that can move our planet forward.

Applicants must be students from any academic background, either undergraduate or graduate, with a passion for environmental storytelling. They should submit a story in one of the following formats: video, social media, written stories, multimedia, or podcasts. Submissions must focus on topics such as climate justice, energy, biodiversity, or public health, and adhere to specific category guidelines.Planet Forward is an innovative platform founded in 2009, based at George Washington University, aimed at empowering college students to engage in environmental storytelling and journalism. It serves as a collaborative space where students can share their narratives on sustainability and environmental issues, fostering a new generation of changemakers.

Planet Forward Storyfest Awards for Bachelor Established in 1821, George Washington University is a non-profit private higher education institution located in the urban setting of the medium-sized city of Washington (population range of 500,000-1,000,000 inhabitants), District of Columbia. Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Open to all nationalities
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded for the best environmental storytelling in any of the following categories: video, social media, written stories, multimedia, and podcasts.
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • Be a student from any academic background, undergraduate or graduate.
  • Submit a story focused on topics such as climate justice, energy, biodiversity, or public health, using storytelling techniques in one of the listed formats.
  • Entries must follow specific guidelines for each category (video, podcast, written, multimedia, etc.).
  • Only stories submitted on PlanetForward.org from June 1, 2024, to February 10, 2025, are eligible.

Offered Benefits

  • Grand Prize: Travel to the Galápagos Islands with Lindblad Expeditions from July 18, 2025, to July 27, 2025, to report on environmental innovations and solutions.

  2. Draft and submit your story in the desired format, selecting “This is a Storyfest entry” on the submission page.
