Swansea University’s Department of Physics has a call for an immediate-start EPSRC funded scholarship in the following areas of departmental activity: Atomic and Molecular and Quantum Physics, Applied and Materials Physics, and Particle Physics and Cosmology Theory. Specific areas of research interest in the department can be found on our website. Applicants interested in the intersections between atomic, quantum and molecular physics are particularly encouraged. The studentship is for an immediate start and no later than April 2020.

Physics: Fully Funded EPSRC PhD Scholarship at Swansea University Established in 1920, Swansea University is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the suburban setting of the large town of Swansea (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Wales. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Privy Council, Swansea University is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 15,000-19,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. Swansea University offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation degrees), bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 99 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades. International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have a first, upper second class honour or a Master's degree with Merit (or equivalent), in a relevant discipline.

For candidates whose first language is not English, we require IELTS 6.5 (with 6.0 in each component) or equivalent. Please visit our website for a list of acceptable English Language tests. We prefer candidates to have already met the English Language requirements at the point of application, although this is not a requirement.

Studentships funded by EPSRC are subject to UK/EU residency eligibility.

Offered Benefits

This scholarship covers the full cost of UK/EU tuition fees and an annual stipend of £15,009 for three years.
