Take the next step in your career by joining the Phyllis Arnott Equity Scholarships at TAFE NSW (Technical and Further Education New South Wales) for the academic year 2025-2026.

The study program is open to applicants who must be Australian citizens, permanent residents, humanitarian visa holders, or New Zealand citizens residing in NSW. They must be enrolled in an eligible Creative Arts course at TAFE NSW Hornsby and demonstrate financial hardship or educational disadvantage.

TAFE NSW (Technical and Further Education New South Wales) is Australia’s leading vocational education and training provider, offering a wide range of industry-focused courses. It provides flexible learning options, including online, part-time, and full-time study, to accommodate diverse student needs.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Australia and New Zealand (residing in NSW)
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded to students enrolled in the following courses at TAFE NSW Hornsby:
  • Certificate III in Design Fundamentals/Ceramics (CUA30720)
  • Diploma of Ceramics (CUA51220)
  • Advanced Diploma of Visual Arts/Ceramics Focus (CUA60720)
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • Be an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, humanitarian visa holder, or New Zealand citizen residing in NSW.
  • Be enrolled in an Australian Vocational Education and Training (VET) accredited course at TAFE NSW Hornsby.
  • Demonstrate educational disadvantage and financial hardship.
  • Show commitment and motivation to study, successfully complete the course, and seek employment.
  • Identify with one or more of the following categories:
    • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
    • Living with a disability, impairment, or long-term medical condition
    • Long-term unemployed (longer than six months) and seeking to re-enter the workforce
    • Centrelink benefit recipient/experiencing low socio-economic status
    • Youth at risk
    • Experiencing or having experienced domestic and family violence
    • Experiencing or at risk of homelessness
    • Living in rural or remote areas of NSW
  • Complete all parts of the application form correctly and attach all required supporting documents.

Additional Requirements:

  • Students under 18 years old must obtain parent/guardian consent.
  • The scholarship is NOT available for international students.
  • Employees of TAFE NSW are NOT eligible to apply.

Offered Benefits

The Phyllis Arnott Equity Scholarship provides financial assistance of up to $500 to support study-related or living expenses for eligible students.
