Applications are now open for PhD Studentships in Health Analytics and Modelling at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, in collaboration with Imperial College London and UKHSA. The programme offers 3.5 years of funding to study real-time infectious disease modelling.

To be eligible, applicants must hold or be on track to complete a relevant master’s degree with strong academic results, or demonstrate equivalent qualifications and experience. Candidates must qualify for UK home-fee status in line with LSHTM and UK Government regulations, and show a clear interest in health analytics, infectious disease modelling, or related quantitative public health fields.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: United Kingdom (Home-fee status applicants only)
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded in subjects related to:
  • Health analytics

  • Infectious disease modelling

  • Epidemiology

  • Mathematical and statistical modelling

  • Data science and public health

  • Health economics (where relevant)

  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
  • Hold, or expect to obtain before the PhD start date, a relevant Master’s degree with good academic grades, or demonstrate equivalent qualifications and experience

  • Meet LSHTM home-fee status requirements as defined by UK Government regulations

  • Demonstrate strong interest and capability in quantitative research related to infectious disease modelling

  • Be willing to work collaboratively across LSHTM, Imperial College London, and UKHSA
