The university will provide all the following benefits:

  • Tuition fees for the MSc Social Research (Quantitative Methods), followed by 3 years for the PhD in a subject area or across areas within the School at the Home/EU rate tuition rate.
  • An annual maintenance grant at the RCUK rate (in 2019/20 this is £15,009).

Application Process

  • How to Apply: For grasping the opportunity, students have to take admission in the PhD degree coursework at the university.
  • Supporting Documents: A two page PhD proposal providing details of the PhD project that you would be interested in pursuing, including who might supervise and why you think your project fits Q-Step and the School of Social and Political Science more broadly. A current CV, including the names of three referees.
  • Admission Requirements: For being admitted, you need to meet entry requirements for each qualification you plan to study.
  • Language Requirement: If English is not your first language then you must submit a copy of a recent English language test certificate or provide details of when you are going to take the test. Applicants from outside the home country will often need to meet specific English language requirements in order to be able to study at the university.
