The university will provide a 100% of UK/EU tuition fees and annual tax-free stipend of £17,785 plus research support costs (for training and travel) of £5000 per year.

Application Process

  • How to Apply: Candidates who have applied to a PhD program at Newcastle can get this PhD studentship. All candidates are advised to apply through an online postgraduate application system. This support will be awarded automatically to the student if they would successfully have taken admission in the required PhD program.
  • Supporting Documents: These documents must be provided by the students:
  • A covering letter and CV. The covering letter must state the title of the studentship, quote the studentship reference code TC012 and state how your interests and experience relate to the project.
  • Degree transcripts and certificates and, if English is not your first language, a copy of your English language qualifications.
  • Send a copy of your CV and cover letter to Christopher.stewart-at-Newcastle.ac.uk
  • Admission Requirements: To be enrolled in this program, you need to have at least a 2:1 honours degree or international equivalent, in a subject
  • Language Requirement: All the candidates whose first language is not English are asked to provide IELTS 6.5 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in all other sub-skills.
