The University of Nottingham’s Faculty of Engineering is offering a PhD studentship in the Optics and Photonics Research Group (OPG). This project focuses on designing ultrathin metamaterial lenses using AI to advance compact imaging systems for applications in life sciences, biomedical imaging, VR/AR, and quantum technologies.
Eligibility for this PhD studentship is limited to UK/home students who hold, or are expected to achieve, a first-class or upper second-class (2:1) honours degree in Physics or Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Applicants should demonstrate strong motivation for research in optics, photonics, AI, and nanotechnology.
