The aim of this PhD program is to contribute to the advancement of clean and sustainable energy solutions by developing membrane processes for the recovery of valuable metals from spent lithium-ion batteries. The candidate will focus on membrane distillation and crystallization techniques, conducting lab-scale experiments and modeling processes to enhance efficiency and sustainability.

  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded for a PhD in Energy Technology, focusing on membrane processes for metal recovery.
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
    • Hold a Master’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a closely related field.
    • Have prior experience in membrane processes, particularly membrane distillation.
    • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
    • Demonstrate an interest in working in an interdisciplinary and multi-partner research environment.
    • Submit a well-structured project description (4-5 pages), including state-of-the-art references, research objectives, a timeline, and an approach to addressing the project’s aims.
