The University of East Anglia (UEA) invites applications for a fully-funded PhD project investigating sulphur cycling in marine bacteria, focusing on the synthesis and breakdown of dimethylsulfoniopropionate (DMSP). This research aims to enhance understanding of DMSP’s role in climate regulation. The successful candidate will receive a stipend of £19,237 p.a., covering tuition fees and research costs.

To be eligible for this PhD scholarship, applicants must have a minimum 2:1 in a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Environmental Science, Biochemistry, or a related field. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, highly motivated, and eager to learn new concepts in molecular biology and microbiology.
