Danish Diabetes and Endocrine Academy (DDEA) is offering PhD Scholarships in Classical Endocrinology for outstanding students. The studentship is open for the academic session 2024/2025.

Applicants must hold a Master’s degree from a Danish university or an equivalent degree from a foreign institution approved by the Danish Agency for Science and Higher Education. Additionally, the principal supervisor must be affiliated with a Danish university, conducting research at the level of an associate professor or professor within the relevant field.The Danish Diabetes and Endocrine Academy (DDEA) is a Denmark-based organization funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation (NNF) with the mission to foster early-career research talent within the fields of diabetes, metabolism, and classical endocrinology. The DDEA serves as a national hub for diabetes research in Denmark, supporting the training of PhD students and the recruitment of international researchers

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: All nationalities are eligible.
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded for projects focusing on classical endocrinology, excluding diabetes-related research.
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
    • Must hold a Master’s degree from a Danish university or an equivalent degree from a foreign university (approved by the Danish Agency for Science and Higher Education) by the time of application.
    • Must not already be enrolled as a PhD student at the time of grant notification (10 December 2024).
    • The principal supervisor must be associated with a Danish university and conduct research as an associate professor or professor within the subject studied.

Offered Benefits

Successful candidates will receive a scholarship worth 1,100,000 DKK, which will cover both salary and tuition fees over a period of three years.
