The grant is associated to the following research project, funded by the Spanish government recently: Development of nanosurfaces and data processing algorithms for the generation and treatment of metabolic images using Laser desorption Ionization Mass Spectrometry (LDI-MS).
The objectives of the scholarship are the analysis of tissue metabolites by MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry and the creation of data processing algoritms and software packages for image segmentation and visualization.
We offer a 4-year contract scholarship to develop research work that would allow the candidates to obtain their PhD degree in the doctorate program of Tecnologies for Nanosystems, Bioengineering and Energy at the Department of Electrical Engineering of the Rovira i Virgili University. The Universitat Rovira I Virgili is a public university in the South of Catalonia. It is very strong in research and takes 80thposition in the “Times Higher Education” ranking of the top 100 universities under the age of 50.
