The Centre for Renewable and Sustainable Energy Studies (CRSES) at Stellenbosch University, in partnership with the Technical University of Munich (TUM) SEED Center, is offering a fully funded PhD scholarship in Sustainable Energy Entrepreneurship.

Applicants must hold a recent master’s degree in sustainable energies, business management with a focus on entrepreneurship, or a related field, and have relevant research or work experience.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Applicants must be from the Global South (Africa, Asia, Latin America, etc.)

  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: PhD scholarship will be awarded in Sustainable Energy Entrepreneurship, linked to scaling and impact of sustainable enterprises in the mini-grid sector.

  • Admissible Criteria: Applicants must:

    • Hold a Master’s degree in sustainable energies, business management (entrepreneurship focus), or related fields, obtained within the last 6 years.

    • Show research or work experience at the intersection of management and sustainable energies.

    • Have an excellent academic track record.

    • Demonstrate proficiency in English.

    • Show strong motivation, extracurricular engagement, and social responsibility.

    • Be nationals of eligible Global South countries.
