Aarhus University, in collaboration with the Independent Research Fund Denmark and the University of Southern Denmark, is offering a PhD Scholarship in AI-based Analysis of Scandinavianist Propaganda and Public Perceptions during the Crimean War (1853–1856). The position is available in either the 4+4 or 5+3 PhD track, starting in February or March 2026.
To be eligible, applicants must have an academic background in History, ideally combined with Political Science, and qualify for either the 4+4 or 5+3 PhD track depending on their completed ECTS credits. Strong skills in programming (Python), natural language processing, and digital humanities are required, along with experience in conceptual and intellectual history. Excellent proficiency in academic English is also essential.
