Leiden University is inviting applications for a PhD Postdoctoral in Growth and Characterization of two-dimensional Materials on Liquid Metals. The role is part of the European 2D Engine project and involves advanced research using chemical vapor deposition, Raman spectroscopy, and synchrotron X-ray techniques.

Applicants must hold a PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Physics, or a related field (or have submitted their thesis before the start date). Experience with 2D materials, Raman spectroscopy, or synchrotron techniques is an advantage. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential.

  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded in the field of Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, or related areas.

  • Admissible Criteria:

    • Applicants must hold a PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Physics, or a related field (or have submitted their thesis before the start date).

    • Experience in growth of 2D materials, Raman spectroscopy, or synchrotron X-ray-based techniques is an asset.

    • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a research consortium and supervise junior researchers are required.
