The University of Groningen is offering a PhD Position in Social Ageing for the academic session 2025/2026. This NWO M1-funded project will explore how social interactions influence biological ageing, using the Seychelles warbler as a model species. The successful candidate will join the Groningen Institute for Evolutionary Life Sciences (GELIFES) and work under the supervision of leading experts in evolutionary biology and ecology.
Applicants must hold or be close to completing a master’s degree in evolutionary biology, ecology, or a related field. They should have strong bioinformatics and quantitative analysis skills, proficiency in English, and ideally experience with methylation data, fieldwork, and molecular ecology. Excellent teamwork, communication skills, and motivation for independent research are also essential.
