Maastricht University is pleased to announce a PhD Position in Plasma Model Development for Methane Valorization at the Faculty of Science and Engineering. This position is part of the Hypro project, focusing on developing advanced plasma-based technologies for sustainable methane conversion.

To be eligible for this PhD position, applicants must have a master’s degree in plasma physics, chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field. They should have a strong academic background, experience with computational modelling, and good programming skills (such as in C, C++, Python, or Fortran).

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: All nationalities

  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded in plasma physics, chemistry, chemical engineering, or related fields offered by Maastricht University.

  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:

    • Hold a master’s degree in (plasma) physics, chemistry, chemical engineering, or related disciplines

    • Have a strong academic record and general knowledge of low-temperature plasmas

    • Possess experience in computational modelling and strong programming skills (e.g., C, C++, Python, Fortran)

    • Be fluent in English (spoken and written)

    • Demonstrate autonomy, motivation, communication skills, and interest in working in an international, interdisciplinary environment.
