Aalborg University’s Department of Mathematical Sciences is excited to announce a PhD position in Mathematical/Computational Methods for Cavitating Flows and Noise Propagation. This fully funded role offers a unique opportunity to work on an impactful project aimed at reducing underwater radiated noise from ship propellers, addressing a significant environmental concern.

To be eligible for this PhD position, applicants must hold a master’s degree in Mathematics, Physics, or Engineering, with a solid foundation in fluid mechanics and partial differential equations.   • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The PhD will be awarded in Mathematical/Computational Methods within the Department of Mathematical Sciences.
  • Admissible Criteria:
    • Hold a Master’s degree in Mathematics, Physics, or Engineering.
    • Proficiency in partial differential equations, preferably in fluid mechanics.
    • Programming experience in C++ and/or Python is required.
    • Additional expertise in numerical methods, parallelizing codes, and multiphase modeling is an advantage.
