Radboud University is now accepting applications for the PhD Position in Language Evolution using Swarm Robotics at the Donders Centre for Cognition. The study award is designed for the 2025-2026 academic year.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded in fields related to computer science, artificial intelligence, computational biology, robotics, or related disciplines

  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must:

    • Hold or expect to obtain a Master’s degree by summer 2025 in a relevant discipline

    • Have experience in swarm robotics hardware/software (e.g., ARGoS, Webots, Arduino, Raspberry Pi)

    • Demonstrate skills in data analysis and programming (R and/or Python)

    • Show interest in language evolution and communication systems

    • Have experience in statistical modeling (mixed-effects, Bayesian)

    • Experience in empirical or VR research and peer-reviewed publications is an advantage
