The Niels Bohr Institute, Faculty of Science at the University of Copenhagen, invites applications for a PhD Position in Ion Optics and Trapping under the Novo Nordisk Foundation Quantum Computing Programme (NQCP). This interdisciplinary project focuses on developing advanced laser-based fabrication tools for next-generation quantum devices, combining expertise in nanofabrication, optics, and quantum technologies.
Applicants must hold a degree equivalent to a Danish Master’s in Physics or a closely related field for the 3-year PhD programme, or a Bachelor’s degree for the integrated MSc and PhD programme. Candidates should have experience with optics and laser systems, atomic or ion-trap physics, and preferably simulation tools like COMSOL.
