Wageningen University & Research is offering a fully funded PhD Position in Diet, Faecal Microbiota and Chemotherapy in Patients with Colon Cancer. This 4-year project, GEM-CARE (Gut Ecology Management for Cancer treatment and Recovery Enhancement), involves observational and intervention studies on dietary fiber intake, chemotherapy side effects, and faecal microbiota dynamics.

Applicants from all nationalities are eligible. Candidates must hold an MSc degree in (bio)medical sciences, biology, bioinformatics, nutrition & health, or a related field, and must be proficient in Dutch and English (CEFR C2 level). Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Open to students from all nationalities
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded for a PhD position in the domain of Diet, Faecal Microbiota, and Chemotherapy in Patients with Colon Cancer
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must meet all the following criteria:
    • Hold an MSc degree in (bio)medical sciences, biology, bioinformatics, nutrition & health, or a comparable academic degree
    • Proficiency in Dutch and English (CEFR C2 level)
    • Affinity with clinical research and willing to work in collaborating hospitals for patient recruitment
    • Experience with data analysis, particularly using R, and an interest in bioinformatics
    • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
    • Preferred: possession of a driver’s license.
