The University of Bristol is committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion. Therefore, it has established the Funded 4-Year PhD Scholarships in Life Sciences to encourage students from across the globe to study in the UK. The scholarship application can be made for the academic year 2022-2023.

This PhD scholarship is offered to both national and international applicants both. To be eligible, the applicants must have undertaken a PhD programme at the University of Bristol.  7 fully-funded University of Bristol PhD studentships covering tuition fees, a stipend, and research costs will be awarded to students commencing their study in September 2022.

PhD International Scholarships in Life Sciences at University of Bristol, UK Established in 1909, University of Bristol is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the small city of Bristol (population range of 250,000-499,999 inhabitants), South West England. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Privy Council, University of Bristol (UoB) is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 20,000-24,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. Offered Benefits

The selected candidates will be provided the following upon winning this scholarship:

  • A 4-year PhD studentship with a range of research training opportunities, including short courses in research, statistical, computational and generic skills
  • A tax-free stipend (£15,609/year in 2021/22)
  • Up to £7,500 of research costs per year, depending on the topic
  • Waiver of tuition fees for both UK and international students

  • Supporting Documents: The students are required to present the following documents to the university:
  • Two academic references
  • Scanned university degree
  • Personal statement
  • Research proposal
  • Admission Requirements: The applicants must gather all necessary supporting documents and upload them to the applicant portal.
  • Language Requirement: The students must submit scores of the following English language proficiency tests:
  • CEFR – B2
  • IELTS – 5.5
