Domestic and International students that have a master’s degree in social sciences and want to enroll in a PhD degree programme at the University of Groningen are eligible to apply for this scholarship. The successfully selected students will be entitled to receive a gross scholarship of € 2,249 per month.

PhD International Scholarships in Balancing Additive and Subtractive Innovation, Netherlands Founded in 1614, Rijksuniversiteit Groningen (University of Groningen) is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large town of Groningen (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants). Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Home country national and foreign students can both apply.
  • Eligible Course or Subjects: PhD programme to study the Balancing additive and subtractive innovation at the University of Groningen can be applied.
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
  • The applicants must have strong quantitative and qualitative research skills.
  • The applicants must have a strong interest in innovation and societal change.
  • The applicants must have an interdisciplinary background or affinity for working in an interdisciplinary team.
  • The applicants must be able to show perseverance, flexibility, project management, and collaboration skills.
  • The applicants must be fluent in English (both oral and written).
  • The applicants must be able to finish the PhD thesis in four years.

Offered Benefits

The candidates selected by the University of Groningen will be given a sum of € 2,249 per month for up to 4 years to complete their PhD degree qualification.

  • How to Apply: The applicants must submit admission applications online via the university application portal. The PhD Scholarship application can be made separately online.
  • Supporting Documents: The students are required to present the following documents to the university:
  • A motivation letter including an outline of a research proposal
  • Your CV
  • A scan of your diploma including transcripts
  • Proof of English proficiency
  • Other relevant documents
  • Admission Requirements: The applicants must have a Master’s degree in the social sciences (e.g., psychology, business management, sociology, innovation management, or economics).
  • Language Requirement: The students must submit scores of the following English language proficiency tests:
