The Department of Chemistry at the University of Copenhagen is offering PhD Fellowships in Experimental Electrocatalysis, starting January 2026. The project focuses on developing water electrolysis catalysts with reduced precious metal loadings and understanding their degradation mechanisms using advanced synchrotron techniques.
Eligibility for this PhD fellowship requires applicants to hold either a relevant master’s degree (for the 3-year PhD programme) or a bachelor’s degree (for the integrated MSc & PhD track) in chemistry, nanoscience, physics, or related fields. Candidates should have a background in electrochemistry or materials chemistry, with experience in synchrotron-based nanoparticle characterization considered an asset.
