- Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Hold a Norwegian master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field
Meet the admission requirements for the PhD programme at the Faculty of Science and Technology, UiT
Have a minimum grade average of C (strong 3.0) or better in the master’s degree
Demonstrate strong technical competence in generative AI, especially non-language modalities (visual media preferred)
Possess excellent written and spoken English proficiency
Show strong motivation and suitability for interdisciplinary and participatory research
Preferred (but not mandatory):
Experience with inclusive AI or Indigenous/Sámi contexts
Experience in community engagement or participatory research
Background at the intersection of AI and arts
Working knowledge of Sámi, Norwegian, or another Scandinavian language
Applicants who already hold a PhD or equivalent competence are not eligible.
