Radboud University is pleased to announce a PhD scholarship opportunity in the Department of Metaphysics and Philosophical Anthropology within the Faculty of Philosophy, Theology and Religious Studies. This scholarship is aimed at fostering research on the project “The Origins of Philosophical Anthropology in Classical German Philosophy”.

The scholarship is open to applicants from all countries. Eligible candidates must hold a Master’s degree in Philosophy or be close to obtaining one. Eligibility Criteria

  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded in Metaphysics and Philosophical Anthropology.
  • Admissible Criteria:
    To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • Hold a Master’s degree in Philosophy or be close to obtaining one.
  • Demonstrate a strong interest in German Philosophy and anthropological theories of the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
  • Possess excellent command of English (spoken and written) and good writing skills.
  • Have excellent reading skills in German.
  • Be able to conduct independent research and work in a collaborative research environment.
  • Be willing to provide teaching (up to 10% of working time).

Offered Benefits

  • Employment: 1.0 FTE
  • Contract Duration: 1.5 years, with a potential extension of 2.5 years (4-year contract).
  • Salary: Starting salary of €2,770 gross per month based on a 38-hour working week, increasing to €3,539 in the fourth year.
  • Additional Benefits: 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% end-of-year bonus.
